Presentations
Salahaddin University, Erbil — 5 December 2022
On 5 December 2022, Nejervan Bamerny, owner of MesoNature B.V., gave a presentation to students, lecturers and the director at Salahaddin University in Erbil.
The presentation focused on restoring nature while using less water in response to climate change. Nejervan highlighted the challenges facing Iraq, including water shortages, declining agricultural activity and villages abandoned because of drought.
He also explored how these challenges could develop over the following ten years, stressing the need for action by government and communities to protect natural landscapes and rural livelihoods.
As a practical example, he introduced Groasis Waterboxx and demonstrated its use for planting young trees. The session connected awareness of climate and water challenges with practical steps towards restoring vegetation and using water carefully.
